Bike-a-thon 2018 WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!

Twenty-three riders rode the Razorback Greenway on May 5, 2018 to support the ministry of UCM! The weather was great and the ride was fun. We had riders ranging in age from 6 to 77! Everyone rode 14 or more miles, with some riding 40 + that day.
We had friendly fundraising competitions between two pastors and their congregations, between a pastor and a student, and a student seeking to raise in 2018 as much as the event total in 2017. We had sponsors from Presbyterian congregations across Northwest Arkansas and as far away as Florida.
The pastors who joined the ride were Dennis Ritchie of Bella Vista Presbyterian; Phil Butin of First United, Fayetteville; Kade Curry of First, Springdale; Becky Purcell of First, Prairie Grove; and of course UCM Campus Minister, Susan Rose.
First United, Fayetteville, kicked-off a new cycling group and had nine congregation members join in the ride.
Kade Curry’s two sons, Evan (12) and Asher (6), completed the ride. We were thrilled to have them and are very proud of them.
Six students joined the ride with amazing supporters financially backing their ride. Thank you to Luke, Julianna, Bax, Nick, Preston and Sam for representing UCM well.
Five students provided amazing support for the rest station and the taco-bar celebration at the finish line. Thank you to Cate, Katie, Sarah Grace, Chloe and Alex for your support. We could not have done it without you and your friendly faces helped encourage everyone on their ride.
Special thanks to the Presbyterians of Bella Vista, Fayetteville, Springdale and Prairie Grove for supporting your pastors, congregation members and Lilly interns! You rose to the challenge!
The grand total of gifts pledged and received is $4861.
In 2017, we raised $1000 and our goal for 2018 was $3000. Thanks to the generosity of all our supporters, we have far exceeded that goal and are excited that we may reach $5000!!
